Data Deletion

This page explains how to request deletion of personal data that Vinyard holds, including data obtained through connected messaging platforms such as the WhatsApp Business Platform. For more on how we handle data, see our Privacy Policy.

If you have a Vinyard account (a business)

You can remove or request deletion of your data in two ways:

• In the app. You can update account and contact information and disconnect a messaging channel. Self-service deletion is not currently available for every record.
• By email. To delete particular conversations or contacts, disconnect and remove a Google Calendar integration, or close your account and remove its data, send a request to privacy@getviny.com with the subject “Data deletion request” from your account email.

When you close your account, we delete or de-identify your account data, connected messaging and calendar credentials, conversation data, and associated operational records in your workspace, except where we must retain limited information to comply with legal obligations.

If a business messaged you using Vinyard

If you are a customer who exchanged messages with a business that uses Vinyard (for example, over WhatsApp), that business controls your conversation data and decides how it is used. To have your data deleted, you can:

• Contact that business directly and ask them to delete your conversation; or
• Email us at privacy@getviny.com and we will forward your request to the relevant business and/or delete the data we hold on their behalf.

How to submit a request

Email privacy@getviny.com with the subject “Data deletion request” and include enough information to identify your records — such as the email address (for accounts) or the phone number (for WhatsApp conversations) the request concerns. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request, to protect your data.

What we delete

• Account and profile information (for account holders).
• Connected messaging-channel credentials.
• Messages, contact records, and related metadata that identify you.
• Connected Google Calendar credentials and Vinyard’s calendar action records. Deleting your Vinyard data does not automatically delete events that already exist in your Google Calendar unless your verified request asks us to delete those events while the connection remains authorized.

We may retain de-identified or aggregated data that no longer identifies you, and a minimal amount of information where retention is required by law.

Timeline

We acknowledge deletion requests promptly and complete verified requests within 30 days. Backups are purged on their normal rotation schedule.
